The Serra Club
Originally established by four Catholic men in Seattle USA, on the 27th of February 1935, the Serra Club has since spread to 46 countries and has a world wide membership of 15,500. There are currently seven clubs in Australia. Membership of the Serra Club is open to all practicing Catholic lay men, women and Deacons and it’s objectives are:
- To foster and promote vocations to the ministerial priesthood of the Catholic Church as a particular vocation of service and to support priests in their sacred ministry.
- To affirm and encourage vocations to the diaconate and the consecrated life in the Catholic Church and to assist its members to recognise and respond in their own lives to God’s call to holiness in Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit.
