Widow’s Friendship Group
We generally meet at the Parish Centre approximately every 6 weeks for a cup of tea and a chance to chat. The group was established with the support and encouragement of Fr James in April 2021. The current attendees are widows who have lost their husbands within the last few years, however we welcome those who have become a widow at any time. The group was formed to give widows an opportunity to meet, grieve and talk about their loss with others who have experienced the same emotions and can support each other during a very difficult time. We often reflect on our loss but also have a good laugh and enjoy the company of the group. It is a safe place to reflect, talk and express our feelings because we can all relate to each other. We currently are a group of ten women but welcome others to join us, when they are ready.
We are not connected with any wider group within the archdiocese.
